Nissan X-Trail SUV: Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has expanded its portfolio in the Indian market and today officially launched the new full-size SUV Nissan X-Trail for sale. Equipped with attractive looks and powerful engine, the starting price of this SUV has been fixed at Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Nissan X-Trail has been introduced in a total of three colors which include Pearl White, Champagne Silver and Diamond Black color.

This fourth generation model of Nissan X-Trail is basically based on the company’s CMF-C platform, which is being sold in the global market since 2021. However, in the overseas market, this SUV comes with both 5-seater and 7-seater seating layouts. But in the Indian market, only the three-row version i.e. 7-seater variant has been introduced.

This full-size SUV is much better in terms of look and design. It has split headlamps, V-motion grille which the company has decorated with dark chrome. Round shaped wheel arches with plastic cladding give a smart look to its side profile. Apart from this, diamond cut alloy wheels have been given in it. Wraparound LED tail-lamps are seen in the rear of the SUV.
Nissan X-Trail SUV Power and Performance
The company is offering a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine in this SUV. Which is mated to a 12V mild-hybrid system. This engine generates 163hp of power and 300Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a shift-by-wire CVT automatic transmission gearbox.

This SUV will have features like dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch driver display, watchless smartphone charger, keyless entry and push-button start. Apart from this, features like driving modes, electronic parking brake, auto-hold function and cruise control make it even better.
The company is also offering 360-degree camera and paddle shifters in this SUV. Apart from this, the second row seat can also be folded in the ratio of 40/20/40. These seats come with sliding and reclining function. At the same time, the user can split fold the third row seat in 50/50 ratio.
Nissan X-Trail SUV Competition
In the market, Nissan X-Trail will compete directly with SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq. But in terms of engine and power-output, this SUV seems to be a little behind. In Toyota Fortuner, the company has given a 2.7 liter petrol engine which generates 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. At the same time, MG Gloster has a 2.0 liter turbo-diesel engine (161 PS/373.5 Nm) and Skoda Kodiaq has a 2.0 liter turbo-petrol engine (190 PS/320 Nm) of power output.
