Eligibility Criteria
To Apply for this Position, you must meet specific educational qualifications and age requirements.
Educational Qualifications
You need one of the following:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council-recognized Institute or University
- B.Sc. (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council-recognized institute/University
Additionally, you must:
- Be registered as a Nurse & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council
OR
- Have a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute/Board or Council
- Be registered as a Nurse & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council
- Have two years of experience in a minimum 50-bed hospital after acquiring the educational qualification
Age Limit
As of August 21, 2024, the age limit for all AIIMS positions is between 18-30 years. However, age relaxation is available as follows:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- PWBD candidates: 10 years
Selection Process
The selection process for Nursing Officer recruitment consists of two stages:
- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
Preliminary Exam
This is a qualifying test designed to shortlist candidates for the Main Exam. Your scores from this stage won’t contribute to the final merit ranking. If you pass the Preliminary Exam, you’ll move on to the Main Exam.
Main Exam
This is the decisive phase of the selection process. The final merit list is based solely on the scores from the Main Exam. Your performance here will determine your ranking and chances of securing a position.
Seat Allocation Process
AIIMS allocates seats according to candidates’ preferences and their rankings in the merit list. It’s crucial to fill in your choices carefully. If you fail to join an allocated seat, AIIMS will cancel your candidature for NORCET.
